When we, at Cocoon Tea Artisans, talk about tea, we always talk about tea from the real tea plant, Camellia Sinensis. When we talk about herbal teas/infusions, we talk about infusions from other plants.
New research in the original tea plant highlights why you should drink tea from the original tea plant. And this is all kinds of tea flavours, also black teas – if they originate from the original tea plant. But not all hot beverages that looks like tea can be categorized as actual tea. It is important to know the difference between these kind of hot beverages so you know what you are drinking.
Herbal teas/tisanes/infusions are very often referred to as teas. As they do not originate from the original tea plant, you will find them categorized on our website as herbal teas/infusions to make sure you can tell the difference. In this way you know whether you are drinking a tea or a herbal tea.
Tea has been popular through centuries and is still the most popular beverage (after water) on the globe. Many types of teas are crafted worldwide – all from the same species – the original tea plant. Each tea with a unique composition and taste.
The tea plant, terroir (the soil composition), tea growing regions, harvesting and blending will have an impact on the taste and quality of your tea. Even teas of the same variety differ in taste depending on the region and the ecosystem, in which it is grown and harvested. The knowledge of the tea growers that nurtures the tea plants and their understanding of how the tea plant response to its habitat is essential. This is even more important when growing organic whole leaf teas of superior quality. That is why we, at Cocoon Tea Artisans, only use the best ingredients and supplying partners, acknowledging their unique skills and expertise.
While drinking high quality tea, you will get that feeling of overall warm and deep appreciation. And that is why, we at Cocoon Tea Artisans, do what we do, inspiring more people to drink pure, quality tea as a part of an everyday routine.
We hope you can feel and taste the difference. Enjoy.

We look forward to crafting the Cocoon Tea Artisans organic Green Jasmine Tea for you to enjoy in your everyday life.
We would love you to get as many insights about our teas as possible. Tea leaves naturally contain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which you can use for more than just drinking.
For instance, this Green Tea Quince acts as an effective skin toner. Make a small pot of green tea and put a cup aside to cool off while you drink your tea. This is your new effective skin toner. Use the toner before going to bed, as you would do with any other toner.
Our Green Quince Tea has recently won an A.A. Taste Award in Japan. Discover this beautiful blend of green tea infused with zesty quince and ginger.
Drink it hot or cold as an Iced Tea while enjoying the sun. Do not add anything but ice and fresh mint leaves when serving it as an iced tea. No added sugar needed as the ingredients of this Green Quince Tea blend will balance the taste beautifully.
Crafted for you to drink during the day.
Did you know that a hot beverage can actually cool you down on a hot day?
When we drink something that is hotter than our core temperature the evaporation of sweat increases, which subsequently reduces the body's heat storage and cools you down - the body's ability to evaporate moist from the skin surface is one of the most effective ways for the body to modulate its temperature and maintain heat balance.
In historical tea drinking countries they drink darker teas when it is cold outside and lighter teas when it is warm outside. When you are in a warmer environment try our organic Oolong, White and Green Jasmine Tea. If you are in a colder environment try the darker teas such as Organic Darjeeling and English Breakfast.
So honored to be featured in Vogue July 2020 with our Darjeeling Oolong Tea Caddy as part of Live Well With Vogue.

We love business coach, Karina Hamilton. Karina works with clients from all over the world - meetings via Skype or in person - and we can highly recommend working with her. Karina is also a dedicated tea drinker.
Her favourite teas are White Tea, Green Tea Quince and Herbal Blend.
"I love to serve and drink Herbal Blend to get calm. A hot cup of Herbal Blend before I go to sleep, is a treat for me. Or during the day, if I feel restless or stressed - Herbal Blend makes me relaxed. I love that I can drink it without feeling like I get coatings on my teeth - a feeling I can get from other teas".
Karina serves our organic White Tea and Green Tea Quince, when she has clients, and she says:
"I love the taste, gentleness and that these teas give you balance between health and focus body and mind, when you drink them and that is exactly what I like serving for my clients".

Being thankful to have such great people around us every day we wanted to share some of them with you. In this Tea Insight we would like you to meet Danish goldsmith Rebecca Elbek and share some of her tea moments, as she is a dedicated tea drinker.
"In the morning I love to start with a Green Tea. When I have been working for some hours I continue with another kind of tea. Usually I prefer Cocoon Tea Artisans organic English Breakfast".
While Rebecca continues her unique work with jewels, she makes a pot of tea to last for the rest of the day with Oolong as she keeps on adding water to the same leaves.
"This Oolong does something special for me at this time of the day, when I am very focused on a special made bracelet, ring, earring or necklace".
We love the craftsmanship of Rebecca Elbek’s jewelry, and we know that many others do too (keep an eye on Nicole Kidman). If you would like to see more of Rebecca’s work, have a look here.
INSPIRED BY WOMEN is a string of stories about women that the Danish brand Masai finds inspiring. Tina Hueg, our founder and indeed an inspiring woman, was selected to feature in this amazing piece by Masai.
We are truly honored to be part of this feature, and we absolutely love the outcome.
"I never believed that I would start my own tea company one day, but then I met a business coach who had a more spiritual approach to business. She was a big reason as to why I then felt brave enough to take the leap. I had long wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I never really had the courage to do anything about it".

Boost your senses with this Award Winning White Tea.
Lemongrass is a powerful herb and that is why we have crafted our Cocoon Tea Artisans White Tea with this particular plant. Together the ingredients strike a delicate balance in taste.
The smooth Organic White Tea with subtle notes of fragrant lemongrass is a beautiful tea to drink either warm or cold. Notice the difference in taste after it cools slightly. Drink it for dinner in a cup, if you prefer this tea warm or drink it in a wine glass, if you like to enjoy it cold. You still get all the good minerals and vitamins from the tea leaves when you drink the white tea iced.
We recommend brewing White Tea at temperature of 80 degrees while you watch the whole leaf ingredients unfold and release their good taste when doused with freshly boiled water. Just leave the pyramid bag in the cup or pot – you do not have to take it up, as the tea will taste beautiful even if you leave the pyramid bag in. Add more water later if you like to have more tea.
This White Tea is organic certified to avoid the pesticides that are often used in conventional tea. We follow international research about the tea plant and use this knowledge when developing our teas.

Danish entrepreneur, Tina Hueg, founder of her very own tea brand Cocoon Tea Artisans.
Tina’s mission is clear. To make the Western part of the World discover the original tea plant Camellia Sinenses and inspire them to drink tea free from the bad pesticides.
My passion for tea has always been a part of my life since I learned about the original tea plant. Especially after discovering what scientific studies say about the tea plant.
That’s why I've made it easy to get tea moments into your daily routine, as the tea is always in a pyramid shaped bag. Just use the tea bag and enjoy the taste of the whole leaf tea. It is easy to brew and all the teas taste good either warm or cold.
The name Cocoon Tea Artisans: Cocoon refers to the pyramid shaped bags that protect the fine tea - just like a real cocoon - before unfolding in hot water and releasing vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and captivating aromas. “Artisans take me back to the time when I lived in Paris and experienced those little shops with “artisan” written on the door that oozed of craftsmanship, passion and ambition. When entering one of those shops you were always met by a unique atmosphere that stays with you forever. It’s that feeling I am striving to create with Cocoon Tea Artisans”, says Tina.
Our White Tea is brewed at 80 degrees. Enjoy it warm or cold. If you like iced tea it is really delicious if you add only fresh mint leaves before it gets cold. Leave the tea bag in the glass for 8 minutes with fresh mint leaves in. Then cool it and add ice cubes.
